Mrs. Carolyn Fondren Humphries, 69, of Dawson passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009 at a Corsicana retirement home. Memorial services will be 10:00 am on Friday, June 19 at First United Methodist Church of Dawson with Rev. Michael Redmond officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church in Dawson.

Carolyn was born December 26, 1939 in Corsicana to Charles Lloyd and Livie Beatrice (Berry) Fondren. She lived most all of life in Dawson and was a Registered Nurse who served as director of nurses at the Hubbard hospital and later, Wortham Nursing Home. Carolyn enjoyed cooking and reading and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Dawson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Humphries in 2001.

Survivors include a son, Charles “Chuck” Humphries and wife, Susana of Dawson; four daughters, Lisa McKinney of Dawson, Kris Thomas and Glenn French of Silver City, Erin Dyer of Corsicana and Tara Springer and husband, Randy of Corsicana; 16 grandchildren, Charlie, Corey, Casey, Eddie, Kara, Marcus, Katie, Monique, Miranda, Kent, Dalton, Chelsea, Alyssa, Stoney, Ryon and Seth and six great-grandchildren, Cadence, Fynn, Monte, Justin, Brailey and Schylar.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny McKinney, Steve McCormick, Daryl Reeder, Mike Reeder, Brian Prater, Gary Humphries, Tony Melton and Billy Wise.
